Sophomore Year: Letter Writing
In English we had a multi genre project we had to do and I did mine on my relationship with my older brother. One of my pieces was a letter to him, which I actually sent. My brother is in the navy and while he was at bootcamp the only form of communication with him was through letters. I ended up sending my brother the letter I used for my multi genre piece along with other letters throughout his time at boot camp.

Junior Year: Playing Doctor
In internship we learned many things about careers, getting a job, and the environment of a job. When it comes to the environment of a job we learned about work ethic and professionalism. I applied this when going to my internship at the Maliheh Free clinic. I had to have a good work ethic to get the things done that were expected of me like chart pull, faxing refill requests, and making phone calls. When interpreting I had to make sure I acted professionally, especially when interpreting for doctors.
Senior Year: Mad Scientist
Over the summer I did the bioscience research program for high school students at the university of utah. There was a two week "boot camp" where we learned a lot of lab etiquette and precision. I also learned how to write a formal lab report there. There was also 6 weeks where we worked with a principle investigator. I was in Dr. Kesner's psychology research lab. He was researching spatial and completion memory in older (65+) adults. I was in charge of calling people to set up appointments to participate, proctoring the tests, and sending the results to him.

This goes along with integration and application of knowledge in civic, social and personal context. I applied the skills I learned in this summer program to the chemistry lab class I've had the enitre year.
